Lee Roy Selmon's history combines the virtues of family football scholarships and volunteering for the community. One of the first things he did is to help the Selmon family. Lucious Selmon was the father of Jessie Selmon. He and his wife raised nine children on an Eufala farm. In second football, he was one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma. Three of them made All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was one of the top linemen in all of the nation. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy being the starting player. They also won the national title twice. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975. He was also designated a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in education. Fourth service In the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours every week for volunteer activities. After college, he moved to Tampa and played for nine years with Tampa's Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro 3 times. After that, he began his career. In 1988, while working as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa and worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the most prominent young people in America. As a student, Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He was captain of his college team in 1975. In 1993, he was named assistant director of the University of South Florida. He was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1993 by his fellow members of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 and The Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded its Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon was the Oklahoma Governor that presented the award.
